Prof. Lizhi Niu,MD.PH.D is a cardiothoracic surgeon and President of Fuda Cancer Hospital,Guangzhou,China.
Together with Prof. Kecheng Xu and Prof.Nikolai N.Korpan edited  Modern Cryosurgery for Cancer, a concise textbook of modern cryosurgery (in 903 pages) which is published by World Scientific.
He presented updated cryosurgery during  Scientific Symposium, 6 th Recent Advances in Cancer Diagnosis & Therapy,"PITFALLS & CHALLENGES in DAILY PRACTICE",Saturday,September 13 th,2014 at Gading Pluit Hospital,Jakarta-Indonesia.

PASSIVE THAWING HAS A BETTER RESULT THAN ACTIVE THAWING

In cryosurgery for (solid) cancer,repetitive freezing is usually needed to get better result of tumor control.Following freezing,the thawing procedure is either passively and/or actively done.
The double freeze-thaw cycle is usually needed to get an optimal result.However,thawing is a better mechanism to bring  cancer cell to death.The efficacy of double freeze-thaw cycle is usually evidenced,except in lung cancer cryosurgery that needed a three freeze-thaw cycle. A new modern cryosurgery for the treatment of solid cancer has been introduced and developed by Indonesian doctors, at least since 2008.
The techniques has been improved since the modern cryo system technology endorsed by international experts of cryo equipments  worldwide.
China is one of  countries where the doctors have taken the skillful ability and competency in cryosurgery.(Prof.Xu Kecheng, et al).
Some Indonesian doctors and hospitals have taken the skill &competency in cryosurgery. (Dr.Barlian Sutedja, et al) through training,seminars and international workshops under Prof.Nikolai N.Korpan (President,The International Society of Cryosurgery) and others.
A book entitled :Modern Cryosurgery for Cancer edited by Kecheng Xu,Nikolai.N.Korpan and Lizhi Niu has been published and distributed for the purpose of spreading the ideas and perspectives of cyosurgery.(LS Handikin)
